COACH RECRUITMENT MONTH

STEP UP TO COACH AND CHANGE THE GAME

Being a Special Olympics coach is about more than sports. Coaches help athletes with intellectual disabilities build confidence, make friends, develop leadership skills, and discover what’s possible when someone believes in them. Every coach helps create opportunities that extend far beyond practice and competition.

You provide the heart. We provide the training.

Many of our coaches start with little or no experience. If you’re passionate about inclusion and helping others succeed, we’ll provide the training and support you need. Whether you’re an experienced coach or simply ready to make a difference, there’s a place for you on our team.

Lucus Huber coach
Sports and competition provide an opportunity to learn life lessons while still having fun! Being able to coach gives me the opportunity to be part of that process. I love watching athletes overcome adversity to grow as individuals.

Sofia Carrillo coach
I love coaching because it gives me a sense of belonging and allows me to give back to my community. Knowing that my volunteer efforts help athletes participate in the sports they love makes every moment worthwhile. The athletes have such positive attitudes and bring so much joy and determination, which constantly reminds me to keep life in perspective. It is an honor to serve my town while being part of something that makes a meaningful difference.
