2026 Polar Plunge
April 18 & 19, 2026
Save the dates to run, walk, or dance into the chilly waters of Big Bear Lake on April 18th or the Fontana Aquatic Center on April 19th at the 2026 Polar Plunge!
Not only can you brave the cold waters, but you’ll have the opportunity to earn incentives, party with friends, and help raise funds for Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

What is the Polar Plunge?
- The Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and anyone to support persons with intellectual disabilities by running, walking or dancing into the chilly waters of Big Bear Lake or the iced-filled pool at the Fontana Aquatic Center.
- A few hundred people are expected to weather the cold and plunge into freezing waters to support Special Olympics athlete in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
- All participants will enjoy the festivities (either by taking the plunge or watching from the “Chicken Coop”).
- Raise more funds and you will have the opportunity to earn cool and fun prizes!
