2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run – San Diego Opening Ceremony & Run

The Law Enforcement Torch Run Opening Ceremony at Chula Vista Police Department marks the official kickoff of San Diego County’s annual Special Olympics Southern California Torch Run. The event brings together local, state, federal, military, and regional law enforcement agencies alongside Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, and community members in celebration of inclusion, unity, and the “Flame of Hope.”

The ceremony features athlete leaders, Honor Guard presentations, the Athlete Oath, agency recognitions, and the launch of the nearly 70-mile torch relay as officers and athletes begin their journey north toward Orange County. (sosc.org)
