Athletes, Coaches & Volunteers
We are thrilled to reintroduce a 3-day format to the 2025 Summer Games, starting with an exciting Opening Ceremony on Friday night, June 6, at the Walter Pyramid at Cal State University, Long Beach. This year’s celebration will feature special guest performances by America’s Got Talent winner Kodi Lee, vocalist and disability rights advocate Jennifer Kumiyama, and guitarist Ronny North, who will perform the National Anthem.
The return of a Friday night Opening Ceremony reflects our commitment to creating the best possible experience for athletes and Unified partners, while expanding opportunities to compete at Summer Games. With competition now focused on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, we’re able to welcome more participants and offer more time to explore everything the Games have to offer—from Healthy Athletes and the Festival, to Rafer’s Boutique, the LETR Pavilion, and beyond.
10 Years Strong: Celebrating the Champions, the Heart, and the Spirit of LA 2015

Ten years ago, the world witnessed something extraordinary—the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. Athletes defied limits, volunteers and fans united in celebration, and an unforgettable legacy was born. Now, a decade later, we invite you to relive the magic, share your favorite moments, and be part of the next incredible chapter at the 2025 Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games.
