How to Build a Unified Campus
Spread the Word
The campaign, created and reimagined by youth, is intended to engage schools, organizations and communities to rally and pledge their support of inclusion, and to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Be Fearless, Be Kind and Ability Awareness day events are also common.
Student Fundraising
Fundraising activities are integral to the sustainability of any Unified Sports team or club.
Here are just a few ideas: Polar Plunge, selling Spread the Word t-shirts, and accessories, or food and coffee carts.Classroom Activities
Inclusion Tiles
The purpose of the Inclusion Tiles is to help gear your mind to think of the true meaning of diversity and meaningful inclusion. Meaningful inclusion can be a hard thing to put into words, and the Inclusion Tiles are a way to begin this conversation. The Inclusion Tiles are designed to be used between students, adults, and people of all ages.Fans in the Stands
Students cheer for their school’s Unified Sports team as valued spectators.
Their enthusiasm, team spirit and cheering ability will encourage the team to do their best. Plus, they’ll witness the courage, determination and joy of their fellow students as they compete. Fans of all ages are welcome, and cheer gear such as signs and pom poms are encouraged.
